Accessibility statement
This website is largely compliant with the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard, as of 5 January 2026.
The website broadly avoids skipping heading levels, ensuring Heading One is followed by Heading Two, which is followed by Heading Three and so on. However, dispersed throughout the website are accordions providing definitions of key terms — these are marked as Heading Three and may interrupt the overall flow of headings on the page. There are seven of these that feature throughout the site, titled as follows:
- What is a Big Local partnership?
- What is a Big Local Rep/Advisor?
- What is a Locally Trusted Organisation?
- What is a Big Local Plan?
- What is a Big Local worker?
- What was Local Trust’s core criteria for partnerships?
- What is the Creative Civic Change programme?
PDF content and the timeline page do not comply with the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard and cannot be navigated using screen-readers. Plain text alternatives will be in place for all relevant content by June 2026.
Podcasts are embedded from an external source and the colour contrast cannot be rectified. Podcasts are labelled ahead of, rather than within, the embedded feature.
Adapting your website experience
There might be specific changes you can make on your device or browser to improve your website experience. For example, increasing the magnification on a page or changing colour contrast. AbilityNet’s resource ‘My Computer My Way’ can give you more information on how to make these adaptations.
